Policy Statement: A-1 Home Health Services, Inc. is committed to providing high-quality care to all patients without discrimination based on race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all patients receive equal access to care and are treated with dignity, respect, and without prejudice.
Scope: This policy applies to all employees, contractors, volunteers, and agents of A-1 Home Health Services, Inc.
Policy Details:
Equal Access to Care: A-1 Home Health Services, Inc. will provide services to all patients without regard to their insurance status, race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
Nondiscriminatory Practices: All interactions with patients, including but not limited to admissions, assessments, care planning, treatment, and discharge, will be conducted without discrimination.
Language Assistance: A-1 Home Health Services, Inc. will provide language assistance services, including interpreters and translated documents, to patients with limited English proficiency or communication disabilities, at no cost to the patient.
Complaints and Grievances: Patients who believe they have been discriminated against may file a complaint or grievance with A-1 Home Health Services, Inc.'s designated compliance officer. Complaints will be investigated promptly and resolved in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
Training and Education: A-1 Home Health Services, Inc. will provide training to employees, contractors, volunteers, and agents on non-discrimination policies and practices.
